Executive Director

Sarah Martinez is the Executive Director at A2I. She earned her Bachelor‘s degree in Human Services from Purdue University and her Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Iowa.

Sarah enjoys traveling and the outdoors, and especially likes trips to Hawaii. In her spare time, she enjoys crocheting and finding her "inner child" by coloring.

Independent Living Specialist

Kiersten graduated from Mount Mercy University with a degree in Social Work. She started working at A2I in May of 2016 providing services to those living with disabilities. Kiersten loves talking to people and hearing their stories.

Some of Kiersten’s favorite things are hanging out with her awesome family, going to zoos and eating pizza!

Talor Gray, MPH

Work Incentive Practitioner

Talor graduated from Drake University with a Bachelor’s in Psychology, and most recently graduated from the University of Iowa with a Master’s of Public Health. Talor is a strong advocate for people with disabilities and enjoys planning art projects for the Expressive Art Group.

Chanel “Nell” Prince, BS

Chanel “Nell” Prince, BS

Independent Living Specialist

Serving the northern counties, Chanel‘s office is located at the Ecumenical Center in Cedar Rapids. She is passionate about peer support and facilitates two support peer groups in Linn County. Nell moved from the Philadelphia area to Iowa in 2015 to enjoy a quieter life with her daughter and her two cats, Monroe and Trudy. She studied Criminal Justice and Psychology at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania where she earned her Bachelor’s degree.

She enjoys the serenity of being outdoors and hiking, biking or going for a swim. Be sure to catch her column “A Moment with Nell” in our quarterly newsletters for some uplifting inspiration!

Independent Living Specialist

Gerald Rath moved to Iowa City after working nearly 20 years as a rehabilitation counselor. Originally from Minnesota, Gerald has a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Minnesota State University. Gerald and his wife, Val enjoy eating seafood and getting outside to explore new parks.

Gerald likes to be active and is often busy keeping up with his energetic Shih Tzu, Asher.
